The Caledonia Gladiators can today announce the retirement of club mascot Rocky, who has served in the role for many seasons with the Gladiators and Rocks’ sides, growing to become one of the most fun and likeable mascots in the BBL. The giant rock will be returning home to Boulder, Colorado, following the club’s final home game this campaign, after a successful season which has included the team’s first title in 20 years, the BBL Trophy.

Rocky decided to write a heartfelt letter to the fans, announcing it’s departure and thanking the club’s supporters for all the good times in the past.

You may have heard the news, but it’s official – I’m retiring at the end of this BBL season. It’s been a wild ride being the team’s mascot for all these years, but it’s time for me to pass the torch to the next warrior who can carry on the legacy.

I’ve had some unforgettable experiences as the club’s representative – from getting the crowd pumped up during games to goofing around with fans in the stands. It’s been a privilege to be a part of this team and community.

But as we head into a new chapter of Gladiators history, and after our historic BBL Trophy win, I feel that it’s time for me to step back and let the next mascot take over. I know they’ll bring their own unique energy and spirit to the team, just like I have.

I want to give a special shoutout to all the fans who have supported me and the team over the years. You all are the real MVPs. I’ll miss seeing your faces in the crowd and dancing around with you during timeouts, maybe even stealing a few hats on occasion.

Thanks for making my time as Rocky so memorable. I’ll always be a Gladiators fan at heart and will be cheering on the team from home in Boulder.

Until next time,

Rocky, Caledonia Gladiators mascot

Further news and developments on the club’s future mascot will be announced in the offseason, following a round of applications and interviews with animals and creatures from across the country.
