Caledonia Blues
Welcome to Caledonia Blues: Scotland’s New Performance Development Basketball Team
Creating Professional Pathways
Caledonia Gladiators is proud to introduce Caledonia Blues, our brand-new performance development team designed to support the next generation of Scottish basketball players. Caledonia Blues is a dynamic new opportunity for players under 23, offering a clear pathway to professional basketball.
About Caledonia Blues
Caledonia Blues will serve as a critical stepping stone for young athletes, helping them bridge the gap to the Caledonia Gladiators’ professional men’s and women’s teams. The program offers elite-level training with the goal of nurturing homegrown talent and providing players the chance to progress to our first teams.
With a focus on commitment, work ethic, and professional standards, players will not only develop their skills but also gain valuable game experience in competitive leagues. The team is designed to give young athletes the tools they need to succeed, while continuing their education in collaboration with local universities and colleges.
A Clear Path to Professional Basketball
Caledonia Blues builds on the strong foundation of existing Scottish basketball clubs, offering a direct route for aspiring professional athletes. Our goal is simple: help young players train at the highest level, grow within our system, and ultimately make their way to the Caledonia Gladiators first team.
We work closely with Scotland’s educational institutions to ensure players can continue to develop academically while pursuing their passion for basketball.
The Programme
· Age Group: For players under 23 years old

The Caledonia Gladiators Community
Our commitment to developing young talent doesn’t stop with Caledonia Blues. We run multiple community programs that engage over 100 children weekly, starting at age five. We also have a High-Performance Programme designed to elevate players from across Scotland. Some of our top talent, like Kerry McGhee, Alix McIntosh, and Lewis Stevenson, have been a part of this program and are now key members of our first teams.
