The Caledonia Gladiators returned to league action with a bang after their recent trophy campaign in January. Riding high on a 6-1 record this season, they faced off against their opponents with determination.

The match kicked off with Ariadna Pujol setting the tone for the Gladiators with a skillful left-hand lay-up, swiftly countered by Maya Pace’s impressive three-pointer. The first quarter ended with the Gladiators leading 25-12, with standout performances from and Kirsty Brown, who racked up 9 points.

However, the Giants surged back in the second quarter, capitalising on Gladiators’ turnovers. Despite efforts from McGarrachan and a late three from Hannah Robb, the Giants managed to outscore the Gladiators by 7 points, leaving the halftime score at 41-35 in favour of the Gladiators.

The third quarter saw Maya Pace continuing her remarkable scoring streak, sinking her fourth three-pointer with precision. Sam Roscoe’s quick succession of points extended the Gladiators’ lead to 9 points by the end of the quarter, with a score of 59-46.

In the final quarter, Robyn Lewis contributed her first points of the game with a three-pointer. Despite both teams struggling to find the basket, the Gladiators maintained their lead and sealed the victory with a final score of 66-52.

Hannah Robb emerged as the MVP of the match, showcasing her prowess with 13 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 assists, leading the Gladiators to a well-deserved triumph in Manchester.
