One year ago today, on the 26th of March 2023, David Sloan ended our two-decade-long Trophyless stint with a buzzer-beating corner three to defeat Cheshire Phoenix 73-70 in the dying seconds of the British Basketball League Trophy Final in front of 8,000 fans in Glasgow’s Emirates Arena.
The shot will be forever immortalised in the history books of Caledonia Gladiators, who won the Trophy in their first season since rebranding and the purchase of the club from Steve and Alison Timoney.
