Caledonia Gladiators are delighted to confirm the signing of Ethan Wright, the 6’3” American guard, ahead of the 2025-26 season.

Wright, 25, brings proven SLB experience to the Gladiators, having most recently played with the Leicester Riders during the 2024-25 campaign. He made a strong impact, averaging 10.7 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game, while shooting 45.6% from the field, 37.8% from three-point range, and 82.6% from the free-throw line. His performances last season earned him recognition as the Super League Basketball Molten Sixth Player of the Year. Before his time in the UK, Wright started his professional career with CSM Targu Jiu in Romania to develop his game further in European competition.

At the collegiate level, Wright had an impressive career at Princeton University (2018-2022) where he earned Second Team All-Ivy League honours in 2022, was three-time Ivy League Player of the Week and averaged 14.7 points, 6.9 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game in his standout senior year. He later transferred to the University of Colorado (2022-23) to compete in the NCAA’s Pac-12, where he was also the recipient of the Stephen Tebo Family P.A.S.S. Award, recognising his perseverance, attitude, selflessness and success.

Wright will bring depth and balance to the Gladiators backcourt rotation. With a winning attitude, Ethan Wright will look to get the Gladiators back on top and add more silverware to both his own and the team’s record.

Ethan Wright and the Gladiators will make their season debut at home this September as they take on Newcastle Eagles on the 21st.
