Caledonia Gladiators Dominate Cardiff Met Archers in Unbelievable 72-Point Victory

Caledonia Gladiators marked St Andrew’s Day weekend in style with a commanding 114–42 win over the Cardiff Met Archers, delivering one of their most dominant performances of the season in front of the home crowd.

The Gladiators came out firing, putting up 36 points in the opening quarter and immediately establishing control. Their sharp ball movement and relentless tempo carried throughout the game, as they shot an impressive 61% from the field and converted Cardiff’s 26 turnovers into consistent scoring opportunities. The Gladiators’ depth was on full display, contributing a massive 53 bench points and keeping the pressure high for all four quarters.

Captain Tierra Hodges led the charge with a standout 19-point, 12-rebound double-double, while Annie Warren (20), Hannah Robb (13), Maura Fitzpatrick (11) and Mathilde Domenger (10) all played key roles in the scoring effort.

A special St Andrew’s Day spotlight shone on Scottish guard Ella Doherty, who delivered one of her strongest performances of the season with 20 points and 5 rebounds in just over 19 minutes of action. Her energy on both ends of the floor, confident shooting, and playmaking presence made her a standout contributor in a game that meant a little extra for the home support.

The afternoon also featured a memorable milestone as 16-year-old Caoimhe Stupart made her professional debut, looking at home on the court at Playsport. Her appearance marked an exciting moment for the club’s pathway and youth development, as well as a major accomplishment in her own journey.

With a 49–19 rebounding advantage, sharp execution, and unwavering defensive intensity, the Gladiators controlled the game from start to finish and sent a powerful message as they continue their Championship campaign.
