Caledonia Gladiators are pleased to announce the return of Jett Speelman, the 6’7” forward made a strong impact with the club last season after joining as a late addition under Head Coach Jonny Bunyan.

Speelman, 31, re-joins the Gladiators following an impressive spell in which he played in 16 games, averaging 12.5 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 1.1 assists per game, while shooting 42.1% from the field, 38.2% from behind the arc and 84.4% from the free-throw line. His versatility and reliable shooting quickly made him a key contributor in the team’s lineup.

At Ashland University and Denison University, Speelman built a reputation as a sharpshooter, highlighted by his senior year averages of18.3 points per game on 45.8% shooting from three-point range. His colligate career also earned him recognition as the 2016 North Coast Athletic Conference Newcomer of the Year and a spot on the All-First Team the same season.

Prior to his time in Scotland, Speelman has gained valuable professional experience across Europe and South America, with stints at Botafogo (Brazil), CAB Madeira (Portugal) and Dorados de Chihuahua (Mexico), to name a few. With Jett Speelman returning to the fold, the Gladiators strength their team with a proven scorer, experienced leader and known Gladiator as preparations for the upcoming season continue.
