Gladiators Dominate Riders to Extend Winning Streak

Caledonia Gladiators extended their impressive run of form with a commanding 101 – 66 victory over Leicester Riders at Playsport, securing their sixth consecutive win in Super League Basketball Championship action. The result marked the Gladiators’ third dominant home win in a row, highlighting the team’s growing confidence and consistency.

The hosts set the tone early, combining defensive pressure with fast-paced offence to take control of the game. After building a strong lead in the first half, the Gladiators pulled further clear after the break, using depth, ball movement and rebounding dominance to keep the Riders at arm’s length and close out the contest comfortably.

Captain Tierra Hodges led the way with 22 points, supported by Maura Fitzpatrick’s 17. But the bench would provide the crucial blow to the Leicester Riders behind the stellar performances of today’s MVP Brynn Masikewich, with 17 points, 9 rebounds and 2 blocks, and Mathilde Domenger, with 19 points and 5 assists, both in under 19 minutes of action. Today’s game also marked the home debut of new signing Tess Amundsen, who impressed with 13 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists in front of her new home crowd.

With another statement performance, the Gladiators continue to build momentum as one of the league’s in-form sides, carrying a six-game winning streak into the next half of the season. The Gladiators keep their focus firmly on the SLB Trophy Final on Sunday 1st of February but will also face some tough matchups along the way, including a SLB Cup game against Essex Rebels away on the road.
