Gladiators guard, Ian DuBose, was named in the first weekly All-Star Five of the 23/24 British Basketball League campaign.
On Sunday, DuBose had a standout in his league debut, a solid 97-79 win against Manchester Giants away from home, putting up a game MVP-worthy 15 points, 8 rebounds, and 6 assists in 30 minutes of game time. Ian came off the bench as a part of the strong second unit that secured the victory for Gareth Murray’s side.
Post-win, the American guard said: “It was a really great way to start off the season for the team. My job is to be a difference maker, come into the game and make the right plays. All credit to the Giants, we had to fight through some adversity to get back into the game, which is a credit to our character.”
Gladiators’ men’s side has a busy week ahead, as the squad travel to London to face the treble-winning Lions on Thursday LIVE on Sky Sports, before taking to Turkey and facing Switzerland’s Fribourg Olympic in the Basketball Champions League pre-qualifiers.
