Club Statement: Robyn Lewis Announces Retirement from Professional Basketball

Following her fourth season with Caledonia Gladiators, a period defined by standout performances and an unwavering commitment to her team, we can confirm that our home game on Sunday 19th April against Manchester Basketball will mark Robyn Lewis’ last regular season home game, as she approaches her retirement from professional basketball.

From the moment Robyn stepped onto the court, she has given everything to drive our team to success. Her contributions were instrumental in last season’s incredible SLB Trophy-winning campaign, and she now helps lead the Gladiators into the Playoffs this May, with hopes of earning the opportunity to compete at the London O2 for the Finals.

Standing at just 5ft3, Robyn has been a true inspiration to players, fans, and the wider community – a powerful reminder that determination and skill outweigh any perceived limitations. Her impact extends beyond the club, having represented Scotland at every age level and earned honours with Great Britain U20s, underlining her importance to the national programme as well as to our team.

Robyn’s career is defined not only by her achievements but by her passion for this club and our efforts in building a basketball nation in Scotland. As she transitions from her playing career, we’re proud of the impact she has already made off the court in her role as Strength & Conditioning Lead. We’re fully supportive of Robyn in her next steps and her legacy will continue to resonate throughout the club for years to come.

We look forward to celebrating her incredible career at our home game on Sunday 19th April and urge as many fans as possible to come and support Robyn for her last Championship Game.
