We are delighted to announce our fifth women’s signing of the season as Delaynie Byrne joins from the University of Northern Colorado in the NCAA.
Delaynie, originally from the “mile-high city” of Denver is a 6-foot-3 forward who has averaged 14 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 steal per game over the last two seasons, form that saw her finish runner-up in her conference and get into the conference first team in 2024 after an honorable mention in 2023.
Before her time in Colorado, Delaynie laced them up for the University of Minnesota in 2018-19 and the University of Nevada – Las Vegas from 2019-2021.
Coach Chantelle Handy said on the signing:
“Delaynie is a versatile post player who can be dominant both inside and outside the paint.”
“Her agility allows her to contribute well on both ends of the floor.”
“We are very pleased she has agreed to join us at Caledonia.”
