We are delighted to announce the signing of 23-year-old French former youth international Mathilde Domenger.
Mathilde arrives at the club following a strong season in the Italian top tier with Battipaglia, one of coach Chantelle Handy’s former clubs.
The 5-foot 8 guard averaged 27.3 minutes, 9.3 points and 1.3 steals per game and shooting the 3 well at 38.5%.
Before her season in Italy Mathilde played for Baskes Landes and Champagne Basket Femenin in her native France, playing in both the EuroLeague and EuroCup for Landes. Experience that will no doubt be beneficial to our upcoming European campaign which includes a visit to France.
Coach Chantelle Handy said on the signing:
“Mathilde is a versatile PG who can create for her team but also score the ball. Playing in European competitions from a young age means she will have valuable experience to bring to the roster. We are looking forward to having her join us at Caledonia Gladiators”
