Hello Rocks Fans.

I remember it like yesterday – sitting down at this stage last year after an extremely tough 2019-20 season and speaking about the hope that I had for the club’s future, with the team having survived one of the most difficult periods in its history.

At that point, almost a year into my tenure, I hadn’t even had the pleasure of meeting most of you with the games being behind closed doors. Now I’ve experienced rapturous sold-out Emirates arena crowds and the club going from strength to strength.

We are back in the playoffs, up the table and thrice semi-finalists – it’s certainly been a season of highs and lows! Playing in every game this season apart from a final is of course very tough to stomach but it’s also the type of experience that we can use to drive us forward in the seasons to come.

I have been excited to see the development in our young coach Gareth Murray who now has his second season under his belt. We announced last week that he had signed a year’s contract extension and I look forward to working with him in the off-season to build another exciting squad.

I’d like to take this opportunity to thank all of our staff, club owners, volunteers, sponsors, players, families and of course fans. It’s incredible how many people are involved in our club over the course of a season and without you all Glasgow Rocks wouldn’t be the club we are.

I thought last Monday’s Rocks awards party was a fantastic showpiece and something quite unique. All of the winners were extremely deserving of their accolades. It was put together to thank everyone for their support and was the first major off-court event we have held in many years due to the pandemic.

I cannot explain how happy it makes me that we can look to do things like that again as well as bring back our season tickets and plan for a full schedule, including main arena games without the lingering threat of behind closed door matches which are no fun for anyone.

It’s a pleasure to be at the Glasgow Rocks. We have big plans and I’m already excited about what we can do next season and beyond.

Go Rocks.
