WBBL Match Report | Caledonia Gladiators dominate the game against Nottingham Wildcats, 82-45
Great night for the Caledonia Gladiators as they take the win against the NottinghamWildcats in an 82-45 game at the Nottingham Wildcats Arena. The Gladiators got off to a fast-paced start after securing the tip off and thanks to #13Erin Jones opening the score with a three-point shot. Despite getting off to an explosive start they saw many missed opportunities, but theteam’s good chemistry helped them to end the quarter with an 11-point lead at 21-10. In the second quarter both teams started to get into their own rhythm, less mistakes were being made. The Wildcats put a lot of effort into closing the gap, but the Gladiators’defence performed well allowing the team to stay ahead and even double their score leading by a 21-point margin at 44-23. Third quarter was arguably the most entertaining one it was an exciting fast paced backand forth from both teams. The Nottingham Wildcats continued to battle in their attempt to overturn the deficit, butthe Caledonia Gladiators kept pushing and maintained the gap throughout the entirequarter. Top scorer Chantelle Handy was quickly subbed in and out to give her abreather. In the fourth quarter nothing much changed. The defence was working well against theWildcats and a quick offensive line overpowered and outscored them once again. Both Chantelle Handy and Erin Jones scored more than 20 points each leading the teamto a crushing victory of 82-45 almost doubling their opponents score and dominatingthe game at the Nottingham Wildcats Arena.
