Caledonia Gladiators extended their impressive run of form with an 85–72 home victory over London Lions at Playsport, recording a seventh consecutive win in SLB Championship action and a ninth straight win across all competitions.

The Gladiators made a strong start, setting the tempo early with crisp ball movement and aggressive defence to establish control in the opening quarter, with a 16-point lead at the end of the first 10 minutes. The Gladiators ability to convert opportunities and limit second chances ensured the hosts held a steady advantage, despite the strong efforts of the Lions side. Strong rebounding and defensive pressure proved key as the Gladiators forced turnovers and capitalised in transition.

The third quarter proved decisive, with The Gladiators raising the intensity at both ends of the floor. Efficient scoring and disciplined execution allowed the home side to stretch the lead, while continued defensive focus disrupted the Lions’ rhythm. The Gladiators would enter the final 10 minutes of action up by 20-points, but the Lions weren’t ready to give up.

The Lions would have a strong final quarter of action but despite a determined effort in the final period, the Gladiators managed the game effectively, maintaining composure to see out another win on their home court, taking the 13-point win with a final score of 85 – 72 to the home team!

This latest result keeps the Gladiators building momentum at a crucial stage of the season, reinforcing their confidence and consistency. With the SLB Trophy Final set for Sunday 1 February, the Gladiators will take encouragement from another controlled performance as they continue their preparation for the next major challenge ahead.
