Double OT Drama: Ragsdale Drops 38 as Gladiators Grind Out Road Win in Leicester

Caledonia Gladiators secured a dramatic 100 – 106 double overtime victory on the road against the Leicester Riders in a SLB Championship clash that had everything.

The Gladiators showed resilience from start to finish, battling through momentum swings and two extra periods to come away with a huge road win. After a tightly contested four quarters, neither side could be separated, forcing overtime and even that wasn’t enough, as the teams remained locked, sending the game into a second OT.

That’s where the Gladiators dug deepest.

Led by a sensational performance from Matthew Ragsdale, the Gladiators took control in the second overtime period. Ragsdale delivered a game-high 38 points, stepping up in the biggest moments and proving unstoppable down the stretch to guide his side to victory.

Across the game, the Gladiators showed their offensive firepower and depth. They shot efficiently, finishing 40-of-87 from the field, and dominated key areas including points in the paint (44) and fast break points (30). Their bench also made a major impact, contributing 48 points, highlighting the team’s collective effort in such a demanding contest.

The Riders pushed them all the way, keeping things level through regulation and the first overtime, but the Gladiators’ composure and execution in the final five minutes made the difference.

In a game that tested endurance, mentality, and quality, the Gladiators rose to the occasion, sealing a statement win in Leicester and showing their ability to perform under pressure when it matters most.
