Gladiators Dominate in Cardiff with All-Round Team Display

The Caledonia Gladiators produced a dominant display on the road as they defeated the Cardiff Met Archers 56 – 108 in Super League Basketball Championship action.

The Gladiators and Archers would start the game trading baskets with score remaining tight for the first five minutes of action at the Archers Arena. In the final two minutes of the first quarter, the Gladiators began to create separation from their host, scoring 8 unanswered points to close out the first quarter. This would kick off the Gladiators dominate performance as they would continue to increase this lead throughout the game. The first quarter would end 14 – 23 to the Gladiators.

The Gladiators continued to execute well throughout the first half, combining disciplined defensive pressure with a balanced scoring attack. Their ability to convert in transition and maintain composure in half-court sets ensured they steadily extended their advantage heading into the second half.

After the break, The Gladiators maintained their intensity on both ends of the floor. Contributions across the lineup and consistent defensive effort limited the Archers’ scoring opportunities, while the Gladiators continued to find success offensively.

It was a complete team performance, with every player getting on the scoresheet and seven players reaching double figures. That depth and shared scoring load proved decisive, highlighting the Gladiators’ cohesion and unselfish play throughout.

With their energy, depth, and execution proving too much to handle, the Gladiators closed out the contest in emphatic fashion to secure a 52-point victory, rounding off a commanding team performance away from home. With just two more Super League Basketball Championship fixtures remaining in the 2025/26 season, the Gladiators will return home next weekend for their final home fixture in the Championship, looking to keep their momentum going as they head towards the SLB Playoffs in May.
