Caledonia Gladiators are delighted to announce that forward Maura Fitzpatrick has re-signed with the club ahead of the 2026/27 Super League Basketball season, continuing her frontline presence at the club for a second year.
The Irish-American forward joined the Gladiators from Manchester Basketball last summer, bringing both international experience and SLB knowledge to the squad.
Standing at 5’11”, Fitzpatrick has spent her career across Europe, with spells at ASC Therasianum, Mainz and Bamberg in Germany, as well as Wetterbygden in Sweden, prior to a standout collegiate career at Marist College, where she was named the 2018 MAAC Defensive Player of the Year.
Fitzpatrick repaid the Gladiators’ faith in a historic 2025/26 campaign. A regular contributor off the bench, she provided spark and momentum in big moments throughout the year.
Her energy and defensive toughness were part of a squad that pushed all the way to the club’s first-ever SLB Playoff Final at The O2 Arena, where the Gladiators ultimately fell 73-66 to a dominant Sheffield Hatters side.
Known for her ability to dig deep, defensive strength and versatility to contribute across multiple areas of the game, Fitzpatrick will once again add confidence, strong game intuition and valuable experience to the Gladiators’ frontline as the club looks to go one step further in 2026/27.
