It’s another double signing day for the Gladiators as two fresh faces will pull on the jersey this season: Tanner Stuckman and Theodore Hughes!
Tanner Stuckman is a 26-year-old 6ft9 forward from Quincy, Illinois who has played in NCAA2 for his local Quincy University averaging 18 points per game, 5 rebounds and 2 assists in his final season.
After graduating, he played in the Finnish first division for Kau Koris Karkkila averaging a huge 22ppg, 12 rebounds, 3 assists and 1 steal per game before moving to Canada’s NBL for Windsor Express for two seasons averaging 12ppg, 6rpg and finishing with the leagues third highest field goal percentage – more impressive when you consider he shot almost 100 threes
In terms of personal accolades at Windsor, he was a playoff finalist in 2023 and during his college career, he picked up the All-GVLC first team (2021), second team (2020) and All-Sportsmanship award (2021).
Last season he moved to the Spanish second-tier with Oviedo finishing in 13th place averaging 8 points and 3 rebounds.
23-year-old British centre Theodore Hughes also joins the club on a 2+1 year deal, his first professional contract.
‘Theo’ has joined from the NCAA’s North Colorado where he completed 4 years after joining from the Barking Abbey Crusaders of the NBLD1 where he played from 2017-2020.
He caught coach Murray’s eye in an individual trial held at Playsport earlier in the summer and impressed coach Murray resulting in him being offered a longer-term contract, joining Fraser Malcolm, Kyle Jimenez and Toto Fagbenle on multi-year deals.
Theo was a member of the GB under 16 and 18 national team national team in his youth career playing in the FIBA Eurobasket for u18s competition in Greece in 2019.

“Tanner Stuckman is a talented player with a good basketball IQ and a reputation for hard work. He excelled in Spain and demonstrates versatility by playing effectively at both the 4 and 5 positions on the court.”
“Theo Hughes is an exciting young individual dedicated to improving his skill . Our style of basketball aligns with his preferences of development. Standing at 7 feet with good feel for the game, he played a pivotal role for four years in NCAA Division 1 at Northern Colorado.”:

Theo and Tanner are our eighth and ninth signings on our men’s team and join existing players Fahro Alihodzic, Fraser Malcolm, Toto Fagbenle, Isaiah Hill, Kyle Jimenez, Trevond Barnes and Patrick Whelan in coach Murray’s squad.
