Dynamic duo, Patrick Tapé and David Sloan have been awarded with British Basketball league All-Star honours for their solid performance this weekend against Plymouth City Patriots.
In the 96-80 victory against City Patriots at home, American point guard David Sloan stood out, with an efficient, all-round performance of 29 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. His counterpart, Ivory Coast international Patrick Tapé put on an exciting display for the home crowd in Glasgow, with a season-high 20 point, 9 rebound and 5 assist outing, on his way to the Exceed Footwear game MVP.
Sloan makes the five for the third time this season, and is averaging 19.2 PPG, 3.4 RPG and 4.9 APG. Tapé, on the other hand, was the only debutant in this week’s all-star five selection. He is putting up 8.7 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.4 assists in Championship action in just over 20 minutes of gametime.
After the victory, Tapé said: “We showed a lot of good signs to win the game, everyone sharing the ball, all locked in on defense. It helps the team if I’m establishing a presence inside, I can kick the ball out for open shots and there’s more space on the court, I tried to set the tone personally.”
He spoke about Sloan’s performance, noting: “David is the leader for our team, a point guard with experience. We’re always looking for him to play well and he certainly did that.”
