This Friday at the Emirates Arena, Caledonia Gladiators welcome London Lions to town in the BBL Trophy as part of a crucial quarter final matchup. The two teams have matched up twice so far this season, with the Lions edging out Caledonia on both occasions.

In first round Trophy action, both teams progressed safely, Gareth Murray’s side picked up a 97-86 victory against Newcastle Eagles in the middle of last month. For Ryan Schmidt’s squad, they advanced, dominating NBL Division 1 side, Worthing Thunder in a 89-53 win.

So far in the Championship, the capital side are atop the table, losing only two games to Sheffield Sharks and Bristol Flyers, the Gladiators’ last two home matchups. With a win over Sheffield Sharks on Sunday, Caledonia made their push to a positive record, now sitting at 11-10 in 5th place.

Two Gladiators stood out in the week’s action, with Patrick Tapé and Jeremiah Bailey making the BBL’s all-star five lineup this week.

Sam Dekker, former NBA player has stood out so far this campaign for the visitors. In league action, he is averaging 17.7 points, 5.6 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game in only 25 minutes of action. He will be joined in Glasgow with the visiting Ovie Soko and Kosta Koufos.
