Gladiators’ Head Coach, Gareth Murray, has picked up the Molten Kevin Cadle Coach of the Month after going 5-1 throughout March, the only loss coming to league-leading London Lions on the 8th.

Murray, supported by Dan Petts as his assistant coach, picked up wins against Manchester Giants, Newcastle Eagles (x2), Leicester Riders and Surrey Scorchers – on his way to picking up the award, his first of the season.

Also in March, the former GB international was selected to coach the British Basketball League All-Star game in London, leading the North squad at the Copper Box Arena. Despite his side taking the loss on the day, he was selected based on the record prior to the game, when Gladiators had the best of the North.

In the summer, ‘G’ signed a new contract, taking his existing one to 2026. This came following a historic win in the British Basketball League Trophy – coaching the side to victory over the Cheshire Phoenix and picking up the franchise’s first silverware in two decades.

So far this year, Gladiators sit in third place (as of 4th April), having battled for 2nd/3rd place with Cheshire Phoenix throughout the season, with London Lions forging ahead and securing the Championship. Also, in Europe, the Scot guided his side to a 3-3 record in their debut FIBA Europe Cup campaign, with a home win over Anwil being the clear highlight.

The side are currently finalising the regular season, with hopes of pushing towards the playoffs on form and in the best possible position. Secure your tickets for the remaining home games before the post-season HERE!
