We are delighted to announce our sixth- and seventh-women’s signings as two of our best players of the 2022/23 return. Welcome back to fan favourites Kirsty Brown and Hannah Robb!
Kirsty Brown, who was born in Edinburgh is a 6ft 3 centre who originally joined last season from Leicester Riders and has gone on to be an all-star in last season’s WBBL averaging 8pts, 6 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals per game leading the team to its runner-up finish in the league standings.
Kirsty has previously played for GB and Cal Poly – San Luis Obispo University in the NCAA where she finished her super senior season with splits of 8 points, 7 rebounds and a block per game.
Hannah Robb from Arbroath is a 5ft 10 guard who needs no introduction! Originally playing for Caledonia Pride from 2016-17 until 2019-20, she then joined the Leicester Riders until 2022-23 where she became a stalwart in the British national team and won the WBBL Cup in 2021.
Last season she averaged an impressive 12 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals (enough to be second highest in the league) and has just returned from playing Argentina, Lebanon, Rwanda and Hungary in GB duties in the world cup qualifiers.
Coach Chantelle Handy said on the signings:
“KB’s work ethic makes her an asset to any roster and was a big reason why she was Coach’s Player of the Year last season. Her all-round improvement is something I’m sure will continue. Scotland is a home away from home for her and we can’t wait to have her back!”
“We are excited to have Hannah back for another season after a successful first year as a Gladiator. She looks very comfortable on her home court and is a firm fan favourite. Hannah had some dominant performances both scoring and defensively last year and we look forward to this continuing.”
Kirsty is still available for player sponsorship – if you or your company are interested, please email pippa@caledoniagladiators.com after viewing our SPONSORSHIP BROCHURE.
This is the sixth and seventh signing of the season as Hannah and Kirsty join Kat Tudor, Tea Adams, Mathilde Domenger, Maya Price and Kat Tudor in coach Handy’s squad. But there are still plenty more to be announced! Keep your eyes on our socials and website for all of our exciting news!
