Caledonia Gladiators produced a determined fourth-quarter comeback to defeat Manchester Basketball 87–82 in the Super League Basketball Women Playoff Quarter Final at Playsport.

Coming into the postseason with injuries disrupting their rotation, the Gladiators were tested early and often. Manchester controlled much of the game through the second and third quarters, shooting efficiently and building a double-digit lead that left the home side chasing.
But the Gladiators responded with resilience. In the final period, their defensive intensity lifted, forcing turnovers and shifting momentum. That energy translated into offence, with Annie Warren leading the way with 24 points and Tierra Hodges adding 23 in a composed and influential performance. Across the roster, every player made an impact, whether through scoring, rebounding, or defensive effort, underlining a true team performance in the face of adversity.

The Gladiators capitalised on 22 Manchester turnovers and turned them into crucial points, a key factor in swinging the game late. Contributions from the bench also proved vital, with energy and composure helping to close out a hard-fought win.
It was a performance built on grit, togetherness, and belief—especially impressive given the challenges the squad has faced in the lead-up to the playoffs.
The Gladiators now move on to face the Essex Rebels in the Semi-Final of the Super League Basketball Playoffs at home next Sunday, with a place in the Final at the The O2 Arena on the line.
