After his post-Trophy Final sprint, Gladiators General Manager, Sean Skelly, has been approached to audition for a sequel to the 1994 Robert Zemeckis classic, Forrest Gump.

Skelly sprinted around the Emirates Arena upon the final buzzer of the historic Trophy win, the first silverware for the Scottish franchise in 20 years since current club captain, Jonny Bunyan’s brother, Keith, was part of the squad when they lifted the Playoff title in 2002/03.

He joined the team in 2020, when the then Glasgow Rocks were going through the Coronavirus pandemic and has since had a successful tenure with the franchise, signing highly-talented players to Scotland, and thousands of fans on a weekly basis to the Emirates Arena.

Skelly said: “After the run last weekend I was expecting the call really. It’s been non-stop since then. I’ll begin rehearsals and filming for the movie in the off-season, and be ready to go again for the 2023/24 BBL and WBBL campaign.”

We wish Sean all the best in the role, and will be front row in the cinemas for the film’s 2024 release.
