Two Gladiators, Kerry McGhee and Zoe Sharpe, who spent time last season between the club’s U18s, senior women (SBC) and WBBL sides, have been selected for the initial 20-player training camp roster for Great Britain’s U18 Women.

Heading into the Summer, GB are sending six teams across three age groups to European competition across the continent, whilst the senior women, including club captain Erin McGarrachan are heading to Slovenia and Israel for EuroBasket.

The U18s side, coached by Karen Burton, will prepare for the European Championship competition in Sofia, Bulgaria, from 30th June-9th July. A handful of camps across the UK and Europe will take place – afterwards, a final 12-player roster will be named to head to Bulgaria.

Scotland have been well represented across all age groups, with a handful of Scots named in each roster – showing the growth and strength of basketball in the country at youth level.

Also heading to camps will be WBBL Assistant Coach, Chantelle Handy, who will head the U20s Women’s effort, and Team Manager Honor Campbell, who will maintain her current role, but with the U18 Women.

All of the fixtures from all of the nation’s outings will be available to view on the newly launched GB Basketball TV, with all EuroBasket and youth European Championship games available for £19.99 for a minimum of 45 games.
