Caledonia Gladiators are pleased to announce the arrival of a new men’s assistant head coach, Dan Petts, who will join Gareth Murray’s staff for the remainder of the 23/24 British Basketball League season.

Petts most recently coached in Spain with Obradoiro CAB – where he has assisted since the 2014/15 season, also coaching within the club’s youth programme.

Alongside his domestic coaching on the continent, he has also played a major part in the youth setup with Great Britain, having coached at all levels in the past decade. In the summer, he assisted Myerscough’s Troy Culley. In the summer of 2024, he will take the reigns of the U16 side – becoming Head Coach for the first time in his GB coaching career.

Upon arriving in Scotland, Petts said: “It’s a massive honour to work for Caledonia Gladiators. When I visited in December it was easy to see the massive potential of the club and the ambition of everyone working there. After speaking with Gareth, Sean and Miguel, it was clear that I would fit into the coaching staff well and help Gareth, Darryl and the team to keep improving. I’m looking forward to getting started”

He will be on the bench for the first time this Sunday as Gladiators take on the Bristol Flyers at PlaySport.
