Caledonia Gladiators are pleased to announce the signing of ex-Washington Huskey and Kentucky Wildcat, Quade Green, for the remainder of the 23/24 season – as the side pushes towards the Playoffs.

Green, an American guard, began the season with Mexico’s Halcones Rojos Veracruz – contributing a solid 14.7 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 4.8 assists a night across 28 games. Then he moved to Venezuela’s SPB with Centauros de Portuguesa where he averaged an impressive 17.5 PPG, 2.6 RPG and 4.3 APG.

Coming out of the recruiting class of 2017 in High School, a group which included the likes of Trae Young and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, the Philadelphia native was a top prospect – featuring in both the McDonald’s All-American game and the Jordan Brand Classic, as well as representing the USA at U18-level at the FIBA Americas Championship, where his side won gold.

Before moving overseas, Green spent time in the NBA G-League, where he played for several sides, none more than Grand Rapids Gold. There, he averaged an impressive 11.4 PPG, 2.4 RPG, and 5.5 APG in 31 games.

Upon his arrival in Scotland, he said: “I’m very excited to be here, and am looking forward to getting started in the British Basketball League. I’m ready to put on a show for the fans and help get the team to a Championship.”

Head Coach Gareth Murray added: “With Ian being out for a long period it was important to bring in another guard that can distribute and score the ball.
Quade brings that pure point guard ability. He can handle the ball under pressure and make plays for himself and others.
Having spent some time in the G-League and South America, he understands what it takes on a daily bases to improve and build towards winning.”

Quade will make his Gladiators debut this Thursday, as the side takes on Surrey Scorchers in league action. Get your tickets for his first game HERE!
