In a thrilling BBL Championship match, the Caledonia Gladiators took on the Surrey Scorchers at the Emirates Arena in Glasgow. The game was an intense battle from start to finish, but it was the Gladiators who emerged victorious, winning 88-70.

The game got off to a fast-paced start, with both teams trading baskets and the lead changing hands multiple times. However, the Gladiators soon began to take control of the game, with their defense stifling the Scorchers’ offense and their sharp shooting giving them a comfortable lead.

The first half ended with the Gladiators leading 49-42, thanks to some impressive scoring from Ali Fraser, who put up 10 points in the half despite playing limited minutes. The Scorchers kept it close, with their new signing, Josh Mcfolley, leading the Scorchers scoring in the first half.

The second half saw the Scorchers try to mount a comeback, with them diminishing the Gladiators lead to just 1 point. Leaving it all to do for the Gladiators to extend their impressive home form.

Despite some impressive performances from Josh Mcfolley, who finished with 20 points, and his teammate, Kyle Carey, who added 16 points, the Scorchers were unable to overcome the Gladiators’ lead. A very one sided 4th quarter meant the game ended with the Gladiators winning 88-70, much to the delight of the home crowd.

The win was a crucial one for the Gladiators, who remain in 4th place in the BBL Championship standings. They will be hoping to build on this momentum on Wednesday as they face Derby Trailblazers in the BBL Trophy Semi-Final, you can get your tickets for the watch party HERE.
