The Caledonia Gladiators are thrilled to announce the signing of Australian-British basketball sensation Samantha Roscoe to their roster. This acquisition marks a significant step for the Gladiators as they prepare to embark on an exciting new season in the Women’s British Basketball League.
Samantha Roscoe, a renowned and highly talented athlete, brings a wealth of experience and skill to the Caledonia Gladiators. Standing tall at 6’4” and possessing unmatched versatility, Roscoe has made a name for herself as a top performer. Her impressive basketball IQ, leadership qualities, and unwavering determination on the court make her an invaluable addition to the Gladiators’ line-up.
Hailing from Perth, Australia, Roscoe’s basketball journey has been nothing short of remarkable. After a stellar college career with North Dakota Fighting Hawks, Sam became co-captain in her senior year where she averaged 10.4 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.7 blocks in 22.4 minutes.
Since going pro in 2017, Sam started her career with Manchester Met Mystics in the WBBL where she averaged almost 10 points and 6 rebounds per game.
Roscoe played in the DBBL for the 2021–22 season with TK Hannover, averaging 15 points and six rebounds per game. The team finished sixth and lost in the quarterfinals. Following the DBBL season, she helped ZKK Play Off win the Bosnia and Herzegovina League championship. She then returned to Perth and had a four-game stint with the Warwick Senators during the 2022 NBL1 West season.
“I’m super excited to be back in the WBBL,” said Roscoe. “Where my professional journey outside of Australia all began. The WBBL has a special place in my heart, and to be able to come back while also being a part of history by representing Scotland in European competitions is amazing. It means a lot to me, and I’m thrilled to showcase the country’s talent on the big stage.”
