Caledonia Gladiators enjoyed a memorable game day at Playsport, highlighted by an emotional 68–58 win for the women’s team over Manchester Basketball in Robyn Lewis’ final SLB Championship home appearance.
All eyes were on Lewis, the Scottish guard who returned home to complete her career in front of family, friends, and supporters. Despite the emotional context, Caledonia delivered a composed and disciplined performance. They set the tone early, built control through the middle quarters, and leaned on their defence, forcing 21 turnovers and scoring 42 points in the paint.

Annie Warren led the way with 18 points, Tierra Hodges added 17, and Brynn Masikewich delivered a double-double of 14 points and 11 rebounds. Lewis provided calm leadership throughout, particularly during a key third quarter run that helped stretch the lead into double digits. Although Manchester briefly threatened in the fourth, the Gladiators closed the game with maturity, sealing a win that marked both a statement performance and the end of an era for Lewis, who leaves a lasting legacy in Scottish basketball.

On the road, the men’s side fell 111–101 to Cheshire Phoenix in their final away game of the 2025/26 season. Despite shooting 53% from the field and scoring 62 points in the paint, the Gladiators were unable to contain Cheshire’s depth and second-chance scoring, with the hosts’ bench adding 25 crucial points. Matthew Ragsdale led the Gladiators with 18 points off the bench, while Malcolm Delpeche added 17 along with a strong interior presence.
While the men’s result didn’t go their way, the night ultimately belonged to the women’s team and to Robyn Lewis, whose final home appearance was a fitting celebration of her career and contribution to the club and Scottish basketball. The men’s team will be back in action on Friday the 24th to play their final game in front of their home crowd against Bristol Flyers! For the women’s team, the playoff looms with just one more SLB Championship game away next Saturday against Newcastle Eagles. The women will take the court again at Playsport on the 3rd of May in the first round of the SLB Playoffs, stay tuned for more information!
