Caledonia Gladiators are delighted to make their first new signing announcement of the 2026/27 Super League Basketball season, confirming the signing of American forward Te’Jon Sawyer.

The 6’8″ forward arrives in Scotland following an impressive collegiate career in the United States, most recently with the University of Montana, where he established himself as one of the Big Sky Conference’s most consistent frontcourt players.

Sawyer concluded his time with the Grizzlies as a member of the University’s prestigious 1,000-point club, finishing his collegiate career with more than 1,500 points across six seasons. During his final year at Montana, he averaged 11.4 points and a team-leading 5.4 rebounds per game while shooting an outstanding 57.5% from the field, earning Honorable Mention All-Big Sky recognition.

Known for his physical presence, versatility and efficiency around the basket, Sawyer brings size, athleticism and valuable experience to a Gladiators side continuing to build for an exciting new era under Head Coach Jonny Bunyan.

Head Coach Jonny Bunyan said: “Te’Jon is exactly the type of player we wanted to bring into this group. He’s tough, plays with a high motor and has proven throughout his college career that he knows how to impact games in a variety of ways.

“What really stood out to us was his efficiency, his willingness to do the hard work and his team-first mentality. He’s someone who rebounds, defends, runs the floor and competes on every possession. Those are the standards we’re building this team around and we’re excited to welcome him to the Gladiators.”

Sawyer becomes the first new addition announced in Bunyan’s squad as preparations continue for the new Super League Basketball season, following the news that Fraser Malcolm and Kyle Jimenez will return for 2026/27.
