Three Gladiators across the men’s and women’s teams have been selected as reserves for the British Basketball League All-Star Game on the 17th of March. Clifton Moore, Ariadna Pujol, and Laken James join Kirsty Brown and Gareth Murray to make it five Gladiators announced in the event.

British Basketball League – Clifton Moore

North Head Coach, Gareth Murray selected centre, Clifton Moore, for his reserve representing Gladiators in March’s event in London.

So far this season, Moore has impressed as one of the best rookies in the league, joining Caledonia in the summer after graduating from Providence University. In Championship action, Clif is putting up a solid 9.9 points and 5.2 rebounds per game. However, in the Trophy, the 24-year-old was particularly impressive, increasing his output to 13.8 PPG, 8.6 RPG, and 2.2 APG in a slightly increased role.

Women’s British Basketball League – Ariadna Pujol and Laken James

Vanessa Ellis, who is the play-caller for the North, selected both Ariadna Pujol and Laken James as her reserves to represent Gladiators (the side featured an extra Caledonia player as the North has one less team than the South).

Ariadna Pujol has brought European flair to Miguel Ortega’s Caledonia side this campaign. She is averaging 6 points, 3.6 rebounds, 2.9 assists, and an impressive 1.9 steals a night – contributing effectively to the winning squad.

Laken James has marked her return to Scotland in style, playing with a fun and exciting playstyle and putting up 7.8 points, 4.8 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game. Perhaps her highlight of the season came in the Gladiators’ last home game vs Sheffield Hatters – where she hit a buzzer-beater at the half to tie the game – one that the side went on to win.

Kirsty Brown also features in the starting lineup for Ellis’ side.
