The Caledonia Gladiators can confirm today that British big, Jamila Thompson has joined the WBBL roster. Thompson last played with CDEFF in Portugal’s top division, while having previous stints with Sevenoaks Suns and Leicester Riders, alongside other teams across Europe.

This season in Portugal, she averaged 3.1 points, 5.7 rebounds and 1.3 assists across seven games.

The former GB international began her youth career in the capital, with London Towers and Barking Abbey’s ranks. She later made the move across the pond for college, playing with Daytona State in JUCO before progressing onto Division 1 side, Drexel.

Professionally, she has represented CREF Madrid, Lombos Quinta, Leicester Riders, Alcobendas, SBS Ostrava and Sevenoaks Suns. Her best campaign came last season with the Sevenoaks’ WBBL franchise, averaging 8 points, 8.5 rebounds and 4.1 assists.

Upon her arrival in Scotland, Jam said: “I’ve been settling in pretty good, I’ve enjoyed my time since I’ve been here so far. I know that the rest of the season is going to be fun, I’m excited. I can’t wait to see the fans!”
