The WBBL have today confirmed that Miguel Ortega has won April’s WBBL Coach of the Month following a successful few weeks with huge wins in the run for Gladiators’ Championship second place, which led them to the Play-off quarter-final in top form.
Going 6-2 on the month, Ortega’s Gladiators side’s wins included ones against Sheffield Hatters, Sevenoaks Suns and Leicester Riders as part of their final run of WBBL Championship fixtures, confirming a second place finish upon the conclusion of the regular season.
Miguel has proven to be one of the top coaches in the league this season, his first in the WBBL. Moving from his home in Spain last summer, he has built a solid team worthy of an impressive campaign in the franchise’s first professional season following the takeover from Steve and Alison Timoney.
